Redmi Note 8 2021 launch has been officially confirmed by Xiaomi on the occasion of the original Redmi Note 8 selling around 25 million units globally since its launch in 2019. “As we celebrate this milestone, we’re thrilled to introduce you to the #ThePerformanceAllStar – the #RedmiNote8 2021. Stay tuned,” said Xiaomi in a tweet. Considering the Redmi Note 8 was a best-seller globally when it released, we can expect the phone to be launched in markets outside of China, including India as well. However, the Redmi Note 8 2021 launch date is yet to be revealed. Redmi Note 8 2021 had recently received Bluetooth SIG certification with the model number M1908C3JGG and it has Bluetooth 5.2 connectivity.

Recent reports have suggested the Redmi Note 8 2021 will come with an LCD display, a 120Hz refresh rate, and a waterdrop notch for the selfie snapper. While the original variant is powered by the Snapdragon 665 SoC, the upcoming variant will come with MediaTek Helio G85 SoC – meaning it will have 4G LTE network support only. Other Redmi Note 8 2021 specs include 4GB RAM, 128GB internal storage, and a 4,000mAh battery with 22.5 fast-charging support. The phone is likely to run Android 11-based MIUI 12.5 custom skin out of the box. We should know more about the Redmi Note 8 (2021) soon.

Redmi Note 8 specifications

To recall the original Redmi Note 8 specifications, it sports a 6.39-inch full HD+ display with 2,340 × 1,080 pixels resolution, Corning Gorilla Glass 5 layer, and 2.5D curved glass. The phone is powered by the Snapdragon 665 SoC with Adreno 610 GPU, up to 6GB RAM, and 128GB expandable. The phone runs MIUI 10-based Android 9.0 Pie and packs a 4,000mAh battery with 18W fast-charging support. There is a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor for security.

Redmi Note 8 features a quad-camera setup consisting of a 48-megapixel (f/1.79) primary sensor, paired with an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens, a 2MP macro lens, and a 2MP depth sensor for portrait shots at the back. On the front, there is a 13MP snapper for selfies and video chats. Connectivity features include 4G VoLTE, dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS/ GLONASS/ Beidou, and USB Type-C.
