OnePlus Watch price in India and specifications were revealed a couple of weeks ago alongside the OnePlus 9 series. The company’s first-ever smartwatch packs a lot for its price, including an Sp02 sensor, AMOLED display, and Warp Charge. However, the watch misses out on features like ‘Always-on Display’ (AOD). Now, in a FAQ posted on the official forum, OnePlus has detailed why the Always-on Display feature is missing and the possibility of it being added via an OTA update. The OnePlus Watch has a 1.39-inch AMOLED display and users will be able to wake the display by pushing the side button or lifting their wrist.

OnePlus has acknowledged that AOD is a much-requested feature but it can lead to a 50 percent increase in power consumption. However, OnePlus says that it is “evaluating the possibility of bringing it in a future OTA.” OnePlus could include an option to enable or disable AOD as per their choice when it’s made available. Once the OnePlus Watch supports AOD, customers will be able to check the time or date without having to raise or tap to wake the screen.
Furthermore, OnePlus says that they have optimised the bottom layer of the display architecture and have increased the frame rate from 30fps standard to 50fps. This is claimed to make the OnePlus Watch the smoothest smartwatch on the market. The company has also said the upcoming OTA update will allow users to customise the pre-set reply list to instantly reply to messages on the Watch, which is not possible at the moment.
