POCO F3 launch date, specifications, price in India, and more: here’s all we know so far

Highlights
  • POCO F3 is expected to be the rebadged version of Redmi K40
  • The phone is likely to feature AMOLED display with support for 120Hz high refresh rate
  • It will most probably come powered by the latest Snapdragon 870 chipset

While all eyes are on the POCO X3 Pro India launch this month, the brand is working behind the scenes on another smartphone that it will likely unveil soon afterwards. Yes, we’re talking about the POCO F3 that, as per media reports, will be a rebranded Redmi K40 smartphone that launched a few weeks ago. The upcoming POCO F3 smartphone has passed through several certification websites so far, suggesting its global launch is just around the corner. So, let’s take a look at the POCO F3 rumoured specifications, leaked price in India, and more in this detailed roundup.

POCO F3 launch date

POCO is yet to share any official launch date plans for the POCO F3 but it’s safe to say we do not have to wait that long to get the device on our shores. POCO views India as a critical market outside of China, and going by its past record, the brand has focused on India with utmost diligence. It is unlikely to be any different with the POCO F3 and the successor to the largely popular POCO F1 should make its way to India in the next couple of weeks or months.

POCO F3 price in India

The POCO F3 price in India will have to be super-competitive in order to take on the bevy of 5G phones launching in India

POCO has largely gone with an aggressive approach in India with its devices. Yes, the POCO F1 did set the benchmark with its flagship-like features at a pocket-friendly price. So would it be hard to expect a repeat of the same for the POCO F3? Going by the current market situation and the demands to use 5G integrated chipset, POCO will try its best to compete with the best in that price bracket. In China, the Redmi K40 gets a starting price tag of CNY 2,000 for the 6GB + 128GB variant which comes to around Rs 22,330 approx.

Now if POCO wants to compete with fellow brands in this bracket, it is imperative that POCO F3 price in India does not go beyond this. So, anything between Rs 18,000 to Rs 22,000 will be considered a great pricing for the smartphone. However, POCO has already hinted during the launch teaser of the POCO X3 Pro that in this day and age, it would hard to match the pricing expectation that people got with the POCO F1. So a price tag around Rs 25,000 for the base variant would be more reasonable pricing.

POCO F3 specifications

As we mentioned, the POCO F3 is most likely going to be a rebranded Redmi K40 for international markets. And since we already know a lot about the latest Redmi K series device, we are compelled to believe that POCO will be using the same for the POCO F3. The device is rumoured to be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 SoC that supports 5G network. This, of course, does not compare with the high-end Snapdragon 888 chipset, but for the mid-range bracket, this might perform better than expected.

POCO F3 specifications may include a 120Hz display, 33W charging, Snapdragon 870, and more

Moving on to other details about the POCO F3 aka Redmi K40, this phone is likely to feature a 120Hz AMOLED display with 6.67-inch screen size. With Xiaomi and Realme offering high refresh rate in this segment, we would hope the F3 also gets it. The new Snapdragon 870 SoC is likely to be paired with 6GB and 8GB RAM option, and maybe with 12GB as well. For storage, POCO F3 could be offered with up to 256GB onboard space. And just like the Redmi K40, the POCO F3 may pack a 4,520mAh battery with support for 33W fast charging.

Going by these features, it is easy to see why the country will be eagerly waiting to hear more about the POCO F3 from the company in the coming weeks.
