The highly-awaited OnePlus Nord OxygenOS 11 update, based on Android 11, started rolling out to users on March 1st. As always, it was a staged rollout, which meant that only a handful of users would get the software first. However, OnePlus Nord users may now have to wait even longer for OxygenOS 11, as the rollout has been paused by the company. The reason is cited to be several bugs such as rapid battery drain, system instability, the inability to receive notifications from some apps, and more. A OnePlus community moderator has posted an official notice in the forum informing uses about the delayed OnePlus Nord Oxygen OS11 update. There is no word as to when the OnePlus plans to restart the OxygenOS 11 rollout for the OnePlus Nord.
Barring the OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8T, which received the update last year, several older OnePlus smartphones are still stuck on Android 10. OnePlus promised that it would bring OxygenOS 11 to the OnePlus 7, OnePlus 7 Pro, OnePlus 7T, and OnePlus 7T Pro after the Nord. All four devices have an ongoing open beta, which has also been halted due to some bugs.
To make matters worse, OnePlus Nord users who have installed the faulty OxygenOS 11 update are essentially stuck with a broken version of the software, as OnePlus is yet to fix the problems mentioned earlier. They will have no choice but to manually install a stable OxygenOS 10 build onto their devices; a process that involves wiping the device completely. Gaffes such as this one will throw in a spanner in the works of OnePlus’ otherwise impeccable machine, which has been long revered for timely software updates.
