Google Pixel 5a design has been shown off through high-quality renders posted by well-known tipster Steve Hammerstoffer aka @OnLeaks (via Voice). The renders give us our very first look at the upcoming Pixel phone and it seems the company won’t be changing the look of the phone from its predecessor, the Pixel 4a. Google Pixel 5a specifications have also been tipped, though there’s plenty about the hardware that we do not know yet. There is no word yet on the Google Pixel 5a launch date, but here’s what the upcoming smartphone will look like, as per the tipster.

Google Pixel 5a renders
As per the renders, the Google Pixel 5a looks similar to the Pixel 4a and the Pixel 5. The phone will come with a corner hole-punch cutout for the selfie camera, a square-shaped rear camera module, a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor, and a coloured power button, among other things. The unibody rear panel is likely made of plastic. The handset measures 156.2 x 73.2 x 8.8mm, the tipster claims, which makes it 2.3mm taller than the Pixel 4a. For all intents and purposes, the Pixel 4a was just a bigger Pixel 5.
Some key Google Pixel 5a specifications include a flat 6.2-inch OLED display. The phone will also get a 3.5mm headphone jack and stereo speakers. The rear camera module will get two camera sensors and an unknown third sensor, which could be a PDAF (Phase Detection Autofocus).
The tipster does not reveal the Pixel 5a launch timeline, but offers his thoughts on the upcoming smartphone. Going by the renders, the Google Pixel 5a will only make the Pixel lineup more confusing as the phone looks identical to the Pixel 4a and Pixel 5. The Pixel 5a is expected to launch before the Pixel 6 series, and we can only hope that the flagship phone comes with a different design language later this year.
