Samsung Galaxy A72 5G is rumoured to be in the active development as the company’s premium mid-range offering and will succeed the Galaxy A71 that debuted earlier this year. Now, while we wait for an official launch announcement, the Samsung Galaxy A72 5G renders have surfaced online courtesy Steve Hemmerstoffer of OnLeaks fame. These renders show off the upcoming handset’s entire design in its full glory. The handset looks quite similar to the recently leaked Galaxy A52 5G, except for a slightly larger footprint. We can see the familiar camera module on the back and the centre-aligned punch-hole for the selfie camera in the new renders.

As mentioned above, the Samsung Galaxy A72 5G can be seen sporting a centre-positioned punch-hole cutout for the selfie camera and a flat-screen with slim bezels in the renders. The back panel has a rectangular camera module that houses four sensors and an LED flash, along with the Samsung branding. The volume rocker and power button are on the right spine. The 3.5mm audio jack, speaker grille, a microphone, and USB Type-C port are at the bottom. The SIM tray seems to be placed on the top. It appears like the Samsung Galaxy A72 5G has a pattern design and glass back or what Samsung calls ‘glasstic’. Since there’s no cutout, the fingerprint sensor should be placed in-display.
While not much else is known about the Samsung Galaxy A72 5G, it may ship with Qualcomm Snapdragon 7xx series chipset, boot Android 11 OS with One UI custom skin, have an AMOLED display with higher refresh rate, and sport a beefy capacity battery with fast-charging support. The Samsung Galaxy A72 5G launch is expected in the first half of 2021.
