Huawei Nova 8 and Nova 8 Pro have been launched on the company’s home soil, China. These handsets will succeed the Nova 7 series and come as beefed-up models of the Nova 8 SE that was launched in November. While the vanilla Nova 8 ships with a center-positioned punch-hole cutout, the Nova 8 Pro model has a pill-shaped dual-punch hole for two selfie cameras. Both the phones share similar specifications, including an FHD+ OLED display, 66W fast-charging support, Kirin 985 SoC, Android 10 OS, and 8GB RAM. The Nova 8 and Nova 8 Pro will come in Black, Purple, Green, and White colour options. Both the phones are up for pre-orders in China and will go on sale on December 30th.

The Huawei Nova 8 Pro flaunts a 6.72-inch FHD+ OLED display with 2,676 x 1,236 pixels resolution, up to 120Hz refresh rate, 300Hz touch sampling rate, and a pill-shaped dual-punch-hole cutout. It ships with the Kirin 985 paired with Mali-G77 GPU, 8GB RAM, and up to 256GB storage. The phone runs on Android 10-based EMUI 11 custom skin out of the box. As for the cameras, the Huawei Nova 8 Pro has quad-cameras at the back with a 64MP primary camera (f/1.8 aperture), an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens, and a couple of 2MP lenses for macro and portrait shots. On the front, the Huawei Nova 8 Pro has a 32MP primary snapper and a 16MP ultra-wide lens for selfies and video chats. A 4,000mAh battery with 66W fast charging support fuels the phone. Connectivity features are 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, GPS/ GLONASS / Beidou, and USB Type-C port.

The Huawei Nova 8 shares most of the specifications with the Nova 8 Pro model, except for the display size, battery, and front camera. The Huawei Nova 8 sports a 6.57-inch FHD+ OLED display with 2,340 x 1,080 pixels resolution, up to 90Hz refresh rate, 240Hz touch sampling rate, and punch-hole cutout for the selfie camera. The handset has a single 32MP camera on the front for selfies and video chats. There is a 3,800mAh battery with 66W fast charging support. Connectivity features include 5G, 4G LTE, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.1, GPS, and USB Type-C port. Both the phones have an in-display fingerprint sensor for security.
