Black Shark 3 launches in Nepal with gaming accessories via Daraz

Xiaomi’s sub-brand, Black Shark, has officially entered the Nepali gaming market with the launch of its popular Black Shark 3 smartphone with tons of cool gaming-centric features. The company has partnered with Ola Electronics Pvt. Ltd. as its national distributor, which has exclusively tied up with Nepal’s biggest e-commerce platform – Daraz to launch its gaming-focused phone as part of its Dashain Dhamaka offer.

Unlike, what we faced with other gaming smartphones previously launched in Nepal, Ola Electronics promises to offer better after-sales service, availability of spare parts, and accessories in the market.

Priced at Rs. 98,490, the Black Shark 3 gaming smartphone will currently be available in sole 12GB RAM/256GB storage variant. Let’s talk about the specifications, features, availability in Nepal in detail.

The Black Shark 3 comes with high-end specs to offer enhanced gaming experience. First up, it has a 6.67-inch FHD+ (1080 x 2400 pixels) AMOLED display with an aspect ratio of 20:9 and 394ppi pixel density. The display is claimed to cover 105% of the DCI-P3 color gamut. Moreover, you get a 90Hz refresh rate and a 270Hz touch sampling rate, resulting in the lowest touch latency at 24ms. It has an in-display fingerprint sensor as well.

The gaming phone is sandwiched in glass and metal build. The Black Shark logo has been inscribed on the rear side. Unlike the Black Shark 3 Pro, it doesn’t provide pop-up triggers that are said to sustain at least 3,00,000 presses. However, the Black Shark 3 gets an improved Sandwich Liquid Cooling System that comes with double the heat pipes compared to the previous iteration.

Underneath the metal body sits the high-end capable hardware, Qualcomm’s flagship Snapdragon 865 chipset. For rendering graphics, the processor is accompanied by Adreno 650 GPU. It comes with 12GB LPDDR5 RAM and 356GB UFS 3.0 onboard storage.

For churning out graphic demanding tasks, the phone has been equipped with a 4,720mAh battery. It supports 65W fast charging. The company claims that the device can charge up to 100% in just 38 minutes. Also, you get a magnetic charging connector on the back panel that has 18W fast charging support.

For optics, Black Shark has employed a triple camera system on the Black Shark 3. The rear triple cameras equip a 64MP primary sensor with an f/1.8 aperture, a 13MP secondary sensor with an f/2.25 aperture, and a 5MP sensor with an f/2.2. Upfront, a 20MP sensor with f/2.2 aperture sits at the top left corner for clicking selfies. The phone is capable of recording 4K videos at 60fps.

On the software front, the Black Shark 3 variants ships with Joy UI 11 based Android 10 OS. The custom software features special gaming optimizations. The dual-SIM Black Shark 3 gaming phone has support for 5G, Wi-Fi 6 (802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ax), and Bluetooth v5.0. As for audio, it has a front-facing stereo speaker, which helps prevent blocking sound while playing games.

The price of Black Shark 3 in Nepal is Rs. 98,490. Ola Electronics has collaborated with Daraz online retail platform to provide the new gaming handset to its customers. The smartphone is already up for purchase on the website. Ola Electronics is offering one year warranty on the device and 6 months for battery and charger.

To recall, Xiaomi’s gaming sub-brand Black Shark had brought three storage variants of the Black Shark 3 in China. However, Black Shark has launched only the 12GB RAM and 256GB version in Nepal. Whether the company brings the other two models that remain to be seen.

Daraz is also offering a few gaming accessories alongside the phone like Black Shark Gamepad 3 which is a press-in joystick with a 6-axis gyrosensor. It is priced at NPR 9,490. A fun case (back cover) is also available for NPR 700.
