iPhones vs Androids – What’s Better iPhone or Android?

iPhones vs Androids has been an argument that’s been around since mobile phones entered the market. Depending on the type of person you are, what’s better iPhone or Android or which of the two would suit you the best may differ. We compared some key aspects so that you can decide which one is worth your time.

iPhones vs Androids – What’s Better Android or iPhone

Is iPhone or Android better depends upon several factors and some of them are discussed below in brief.

Price

iPhone vs Android sales depends upon sale. There aren’t as many Apple devices available as Android. All kinds of manufacturers use android operating systems, so this isn’t a surprise. The fact that there are so many of them means that you can pick up good phones for barely anything.

If you know anything about Apple, it’s that their tech is expensive. Most people snag them as status symbols. Compared to Android devices their price, you may say they’re not better. This is as they’re confined by a chipset, UI, and other specs.

For example, the OnePlus 7T rocks a Snapdragon 855+ chip, while the Sony Xperia 1 has the Snapdragon 855, and the Samsung S20 has the Exynos 990. Whatever the latest iPhone you look at, you’ll see it rocking the company’s Bionic processor.

Choices

As there are so many Android phones around, not only can you purchase affordable ones, but also get hold of handsets that look cool. If you’ve never seen the Asus ROG II before, you need to check it out. It’s a hardcore phone that was made for gaming. It was designed to be very PC-like.

Phones from Chinese brands are known to be the most exciting with their designs. Just take a look at any Xiaomi unit. Their Redmi Note 7 rocks a bold holographic body in red, which you’ll never see in an iPhone. Apple’s handsets are meant to be premium symbols, so they’re ultra-sleek. But the manufacturer has been getting braver. Their Apple iPhone 11 come in exciting shades, for them at least. This includes lilac, mint, and pastel yellow.

Build

When it comes to comparing the build of the two, you’ll realize that iPhones feel the most premium. As we established, they are the most expensive devices. So, they feel and look better than a standard handset from their rival.

Of course, this isn’t true about flagships from its competitor. The Samsung Galaxy S20 is made from very high-quality Gorilla Glass and aluminum, being only 7.9 mm thick. The iPhone 11, too, comes with Gorilla Glass and aluminum, but it’s slightly thicker at 8.1 mm.

Bloatware

Bloatware is the bane of every user’s existence. They are apps that come pre-installed in devices, regardless if they’re phones or not. Whatever Apple handset you pick up, you won’t find bloatware. This is true for all carriers.

Android phones are known to be littered with them. That’s why you may think about getting one unlocked. But this would result in you paying more than you would for a carrier. Considering that bloatware takes space and you can’t delete them, you’re in a pinch.

Accessories

As there are so many Android phones around, you might think that there would be more accessories for them. This is simply not true. Accessory manufacturers only design these for well-known models. Even for them, the selection of cases, car mounts, screen protectors, and so on can’t compare to the selection for iPhones. This is due to Apple being such a statement brand.

Software Updates

The Apple iPhone 6S was released in 2015. It was not supposed to receive the latest iOS update. However, it’s scheduled to receive iOS 14 this fall. Apple has been known to update their devices, no matter what, for years.

Depending on the carrier, manufacturer, and model you pick up, your Android device probably won’t receive updates as fast or as frequently as their counterpart. For example, AT&T only rolled out Android 10 for the Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0 in the fall of this year. Considering that the new OS was released in 2019, this is concerning.

Expandable Storage

You won’t get expandable storage for Apple devices. If you want a lot of storage space, you’ll have to purchase a model with it. You can snag the iPhone 11 Pro with 64, 256, and 512 GB of space.

Although most Android flagships won’t let you expand the storage, you’ll find many from cheaper price ranges that do. Remember that we said ‘most’ of them won’t come with expandable storage. It’s impressive that Samsung S10 has a MicroSD slot.

Customizability

Everyone knows how customizable Android phones are. Not only can you make widgets, download browsers apart from those installed, and third-party versions of media players and other core services, but you can also download skins from the Play store. iPhones only allow you to create widgets and place apps anywhere on the home screen with iOS 14.

Since Android phones come in all shapes and sizes, you’ll find a range of UIs in them. Some are known to be more customizable than others, like EMUI and OxygenOS. But they don’t look very good – EMUI doesn’t have an app drawer, which has made buyers less interested in buying them.

iPhones vs Androids – Final Thoughts

When it comes to Apple vs Android, it’s hard to figure out which of the two is better. If you’re someone who wants a good-looking phone that is built well and screams luxury, you might want to take a look at an iPhone. The cherry on top is the fact that there are so many accessories for them, and you’re not going to be plagued with bloatware.

Their rival is great if you want phones for any price range. As there are so many manufacturers producing Android devices, you’ll be able to find a handset that is affordable but still packs a punch. They come widely with expandable storage too. However, they don’t receive updates as fast. There aren’t many either. As we mentioned, the iPhone 6S, which was released five years ago, is receiving the iOS 14 update.

Considering everything we said, which of the two would you consider is the best?
