Amazon announced two new streaming devices at its annual hardware event on Friday. The US conglomerate has introduced an updated Amazon Fire TV Stick and a new affordable Amazon Fire TV Stick Lite. Besides, Amazon has also brought a revamped interface for the Alexa-enabled smart TV platform.
Both the Fire TV Stick and the Fire TV Stick Lite carries similar features and specifications, the exception being a few minor tweaks in the remote. Here are all the details on specs, features, and price of the new Amazon products-

Amazon Fire TV Stick (3rd Gen) Specifications & Features
The updated Amazon Fire TV Stick (3rd Generation) looks identical to its predecessor; however, Amazon has made some radical changes to the internals. The streaming device now employs a 1.7-GHz quad-core chipset cited to be 50% more powerful than the previous model.
With a powerful CPU, the TV Stick will be able to load content and launch apps faster than before. It comes with Dolby Atmos support for full HD streaming. Although the streaming is limited to 1080p at 60HZ, Amazon claims that the stick now supports HDR 10, HDR 10+, and HLG (Hybrid Log-Gamma) content.
Moreover, you now get a fully-featured Alexa Voice remote previously available on the Fire TV Stick 4K variant. The remote comes with dedicated power, volume, and mute buttons to enable controlling your TV or soundbar via voice command.
For the storage of apps and app data, there’s 8GB native memory. The device has a new dual-band and dual-antenna WiFi for a better connection.

The new Amazon Fire TV Stick Lite retains similar aspects to that of the updated Fire TV Stick streaming device including full HD streaming; HDR formats support etc. The difference between the two devices is in the remote.
While Fire TV Stick’s Alexa remote can control the TV’s volume and has a mute button, the Alexa Remote Lite on the Fire TV Stick Lite skips these functionalities.
Besides, the latter has Dolby Atmos available via HDMI-pass through only. However, the Fire TV Stick Lite does get a revamped interface with access to new features.

Amazon Fire TV OS Redesign – New Interface
Speaking of the redesigned interface for Fire TV, Amazon has added oodles of new features including a personalized home page for quick access to favourite content. The company has also implemented improved navigation with a “favourites” bar for app shortcuts at the top. The new design will now support user profiles for up to six people.
The notable feature of the revamped interface is the inclusion of video calling support. The feature will enable displaying video calls on the TV screen. It will work with Fire TV Cube being connecting to a Logitech USB webcam thereby enabling two-way video calling on Alexa.
Amazon also has plans to add Zoom video calling support later. The redesigned interface will roll out later this year.
The redesigned Fire TV experience will begin rolling out globally later this year, starting with the all-new Amazon Fire TV Stick and Fire TV Stick Lite.
