Xiaomi today announced another addition to their audio product category in Nepal – the Redmi Earbuds S. Despite the name change, they are the same as the Redmi AirDots S from earlier this year. With this, the company plans to delve deeper into the ecosystem and accessories space.
Sourabh Kothari, Country General Manager at Xiaomi Nepal, said, “Redmi smartphones are known to be versatile and are benchmarks of performance in their category. We approached the audio category with the same credo. With Redmi Earbuds S we want to provide a stylish and exciting true wireless experience with class-leading low latency while gaming. Features like the compact design and IPX4 rating increase the versatility of Redmi Earbuds S, allowing usage across different scenarios. We hope that with the Redmi Earbuds S, our consumers have a great audio experience.”

Redmi Earbuds S Specifications and Features
Redmi Earbuds S comes in a compact design, both the buds and the case. The earbuds are designed to fit snugly in the ear canal, ensuring long hours of use and minimal ear fatigue. The earbuds case, in its matte black finish, is also designed to take up minimum space, making it easily pocketable.
The Redmi Earbuds S comes with tactile feedback from the earbuds’ buttons. It also offers versatility thanks to the single button interface, which can be used to play/pause music, receive/end calls, summon voice assistants and activate a dedicated gaming mode (Low Latency Mode).
The Low Latency Mode brings class-leading wireless latency to 122ms, reducing audio lag while playing games. The Redmi Earbuds S pack 7.2mm drivers and Bluetooth 5.0, and if you’re using a new MIUI phone, the earbuds will pair seamlessly the first time you open the box.
Redmi Earbuds S comes with what Xiaomi calls “DSP Environmental Noise Cancellation”, but that’s just in-call cancellation and not true ANC. It also packs three different sized silicon tips to provide the right fit and passive noise isolation.
Redmi Earbuds S comes with a total playtime of 12 hours including the battery in the charging case. The TWS Earbuds alone are good for 4 hours of usage.
Redmi Earbuds S comes with an IPX4 rating, making it splash and resistant so you can take them on the run in the rain.
