Flipkart, one of India’s leading online retailers – now owned by Walmart, has announced the launch of Nokia Media Streamer in India. Similar to the Amazon Fire TV Stick and the Mi Box and Mi TV Stick by Xiaomi, this media streaming device allows you to convert a traditional TV set into a smart TV.
The Nokia Media Streamer connects to a television and allows users to stream content via streaming apps like Netflix, Disney Hotstar+, Amazon Prime, ZEE5, Spotify, and others.
Notably, Flipkart is a licensee of the Nokia brand in India. The product has been made and launched by Flipkart as part of its strategic relationship with Nokia. In December 2019, the company had previously launched Nokia Android TVs under the same arrangement.

Nokia Media Streamer Specifications and Features
The Nokia Media Streamer comes with premium features, including a full HD resolution of 1920 x 1080p at 60 frames per second.
Further, the Nokia Media Streamer is powered by a quad-core processor coupled with 1 GB RAM and 8 GB ROM. It also provides dual-band WiFi support for 2.4GHz / 5GHz and is equipped with a multi I/O antenna for better reception.
The device runs on the latest version of Google’s widely popular operating system – Android 9.0 OS. It offers access to Google Play Store, allowing users to download a variety of apps available for televisions.
There’s also built-in Chromecast support that enables users to cast your smartphone screens onto the TV. It comes with Dolby Digital Audio and a voice-controlled remote with Google Assistant, which allows users to shuffle between devices quickly.
Apart from Netflix, the Nokia Media Streamer also has a hotkey for ZEE5 on the remote – a first for any media streaming device in India.
